Cómo se toca
Guiro no se toca tocando la pantalla como un botón: se raspa, igual que un güiro de verdad.
- Rasgueo: arrastrá el dedo hacia arriba y hacia abajo sobre la superficie del instrumento, cruzando las ranuras. La velocidad y la dirección cambian el sonido.
- Golpe: tocá el plato redondo de la parte de abajo.
- Cambiar de instrumento: deslizá el dedo a izquierda o derecha, o usá las flechas de los costados.
Si apoyás el dedo y no lo movés, no suena — es a propósito: el sonido nace del roce, no del contacto.
No se escucha nada
- Subí el volumen. El interruptor de silencio del costado no afecta a Guiro: la app suena igual con el teléfono en silencio, así que si no escuchás nada, no es eso.
- Probá raspando, no tocando (ver arriba).
- Si acabás de conectar o desconectar auriculares, esperá un segundo a que la salida se acomode y volvé a raspar.
- Si aparece un cartel rojo de error de audio, tocá Reintentar.
- Si nada de eso alcanza, cerrá la app del todo y volvé a abrirla — y contame, porque eso es un problema que quiero ver.
Se siente retrasado
Con auriculares Bluetooth siempre hay retraso: el audio viaja por radio y llega tarde, y eso no se puede arreglar desde la app. La app te avisa con un cartel naranja cuando detecta una salida Bluetooth lenta. Para tocar con la mejor respuesta usá el parlante del teléfono o auriculares con cable.
Micrófono y cámara
Los dos permisos son opcionales y nunca se piden al abrir la app. Guiro funciona entera sin darlos:
- El micrófono se usa solo cuando vos empezás una grabación dentro de la app.
- La cámara, solo cuando elegís sacarle una foto a tu instrumento.
Si dijiste que no y querés cambiarlo: Ajustes de iOS → Guiro → activá Micrófono o Cámara.
Armar tu propio instrumento
Desde la biblioteca de sonidos podés crear un kit propio: grabás el rasgueo y el golpe con el micrófono (o importás archivos de audio), le sacás una foto al instrumento, y recortás cada sonido dentro de la app. Todo eso queda guardado en el teléfono.
Dónde quedan mis grabaciones
Las tomas de lo que tocás quedan en tu dispositivo, en la pantalla de grabaciones (el ícono de forma de onda). Desde ahí las escuchás, las compartís y las borrás. Si desinstalás la app, se borran con ella: no hay copia en ningún servidor.

- Modelo de iPhone y versión de iOS.
- Qué estabas haciendo y qué esperabas que pasara.
- Si usabas auriculares, y si eran Bluetooth o con cable.
Si estás probando la app por TestFlight, el botón de enviar comentarios de TestFlight también me llega, y viene con los datos del dispositivo puestos.
Requisitos
Guiro es una app de iPhone y necesita iOS 26 o posterior. No requiere cuenta ni conexión a internet.

How to play
Guiro is not tapped like a button: you scrape it, like a real güiro.
- Scrape: drag a finger up and down the instrument's ridged surface. Finger speed and direction change the sound.
- Hit: tap the round plate near the bottom.
- Switch instruments: swipe left or right, or use the arrows at the sides.
Resting a finger without moving it makes no sound — that is deliberate: the sound comes from the friction, not from the contact.
No sound
- Turn the volume up. The side silent switch does not affect Guiro — the app plays with the phone on silent — so if you hear nothing, that is not the cause.
- Try scraping rather than tapping (see above).
- If you just connected or disconnected headphones, give the output a second to settle and scrape again.
- If a red audio-error banner appears, tap Reintentar (Retry).
- If none of that helps, fully quit and reopen the app — and please tell me, because that is a problem I want to see.
It feels laggy
Bluetooth headphones always add delay: the audio travels over radio and arrives late, and no app can fix that. Guiro shows an orange notice when it detects a slow Bluetooth output. For the best response, use the phone speaker or wired headphones.
Microphone and camera
Both permissions are optional and are never requested at launch. The app is fully usable without granting either:
- The microphone is used only when you start a recording inside the app.
- The camera, only when you choose to photograph your instrument.
To change your mind later: iOS Settings → Guiro → enable Microphone or Camera.
Building your own instrument
From the sound library you can create your own kit: record the scrape and the hit with the microphone (or import audio files), take a photo of the instrument, and trim each sound inside the app. All of it is stored on the phone.
Where my recordings live
Takes of your own playing stay on your device, on the recordings screen (the waveform icon), where you can play, share and delete them. Uninstalling the app deletes them with it — there is no copy on any server.
Reporting a problem
Email lucasmartindeveloper@gmail.com and tell me, if you can:
- Your iPhone model and iOS version.
- What you were doing and what you expected to happen.
- Whether you were using headphones, and whether they were Bluetooth or wired.
If you are testing through TestFlight, its own feedback button reaches me too, with the device details already filled in.

Guiro is an iPhone app and requires iOS 26 or later. No account and no internet connection are needed.
